Sumauma is known as "tree of life", "Grandmother tree", and "sky ladder" by indigenous peoples. The leader of the Tahuactep tribe of the Mastsés tribe, said, "it is the Mother Spirit of the rainforest, from this spiritual tree came the life force of all living things".  Several tribes of the Amazon say that each sumauma tree holds a portal under its base which serves as a communication portal to other existing worlds, invisible to the human eye.  It is great for meditation and grounding. This snuff cleanses the respiratory system such as sinusitis and inflammation caused by viral infections. It also helps with anxiety, migraines and fatigue.
